Having been a professional nature and landscape photographer for thirteen years I am well aware of the benefits of using photographic imagery to enlighten the world’s population to environmental issues. Creative and eye-catching photography, which shows threatened species and habitats in dramatic and engaging ways stands a real chance of imprinting the issue into the mind of the viewer. Images which contain a combination of a special location or subject, atmospheric lighting and thoughtful composition linger in the memory and will hopefully encourage people to support those attempting to conserve our natural landscapes and wildlife for the future. My own work uses dramatic, atmospheric and moody lighting to show the landscape at its best and often in conditions rarely seen by the majority of people. I am hopeful that, together, 2020 Vision’s team of photographers can provide valuable exposure for some of the UK’s most threatened habitats and the wildlife which relies upon them.
