I have worked regularly (freelance) for the National Trust since 1989, contributing strongly to many of their books, and all their promotional publishing, exhibitions etc, including their 2006 show on climate change. I have also worked for organisations such as the Woodland Trust, local Wildlife Trusts and the Cleveland Community Forest.

A trip to Alaska made me a hard-core wilderness advocate, and I believe that the wilderness remains a benchmark of beauty for landscape photographers as well a source of inspiration for all. I am a life member of the John Muir Trust.

My recent books focus on the full range of habitats that characterise the coast and mountains of Scotland. Professionally I am looking for a way to dedicate the rest of my career to the preservation of the wild. That is my mission.
