Andy Rouse
Together with a life-long fascination with the creatures of the natural world, Andy Rouse has developed his professional photographic career from humble beginnings over the past few decades. A larger than life character, he is very much at home in front of an audience and likes nothing more than to share his amazing images and the stories behind them with everyone, as is evident from his sell-out talks, expeditions and publications. He has won 7 consecutive BBC awards in the past 5 years (16 in total), is currently appearing in 3 TV adverts for the National Geographic Channel and has just self published his own tiger book which donates 25% of its proceeds to tiger conservation projects. His exhibition, Tigers a celebration of Life, is currently showing at the National Geographic stores in London and Singapore.
Conservation plays a vital role in his professional life and he has his own conservation fund, in partnership with Paramo Directional Clothing Systems Ltd, that has so far provided grants for projects on Capercaillie, Little Owls, Black Grouse and Tigers. Seeking to inspire and enthuse people about wildlife and foster a respect for the natural world, Andy tries to set the standard for others to follow in terms of an ethical approach to wildlife photography and his zero tolerance approach to image manipulation. He is a naturalist first and a photographer second and freely admits to being an animal hugger.
